About CL...

Mission:

To encourage young adults to live a Christian Life through Catholic faith formation activities, social interaction, and spiritual works.

Motto:

To be determined.

Goals:

  • To better understand and live the doctrines of the Catholic Church.
  • To participate in one major mission and several smaller missions each year.
  • To strengthen our personal relationships with God through prayer, retreat, spiritual exercises and reflections on church teachings.
  • To build strong Christian friendships.

Description:

Young adults in their 20's & 30's come together to learn and grow in their Catholic faith through discussions of the Gospel and/or activities based on the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Common activities include:

  • Prayer: every meeting begins and ends with prayer, and prayer is often a topic of discussion or primary meeting activity. Common Catholic prayers such as the Rosary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and various novenas are included along with informal prayers.
  • Icebreakers: To help members, especially new members, get to know eachother better, we often will have all members answer a thought provoking question such as where they would most like to visit or their favorite animal along with a reason for their answer.
  • Scripture readings: after the opening prayer and icebreaker, we read the scripture passages for the upcoming Sunday Mass, and contemplate their meaning.
  • Main activity: Common main activities include discussions of topics related to living a Christian life, skits or other creative activities, or watching Christian-themed movies.
